☘️SHORE TOUR EXCURSION FROM DUBLIN TO THE WICKLOW MOUNTAINS, GLENDALOUGH AND A DUBLIN CITY TOUR (COACH TOUR)
**Pick-Up Location: Dublin Port Cruise Ship Terminal – At your ships dis-embarkment point. Your guide shall be waiting with a sign ready to take you off on your marvelous journey.
**Meeting Time: We collect passengers from the cruise ship at 07:30 for departure @ 08:00. Where your ship docks later than 07:30 the tour will begin 30 minutes after disembarkation commences.
You will be collected in style by a luxury coach from the Cruise Ship Terminal in Dublin. Your guide will begin the day with a panoramic tour of Dublin City, pointing out highlights such as Trinity College, O’Connell Street, the GPO, Molly Malone, River Liffey, Ha’Penny Bridge, Christchurch Cathedral, and St Patrick’s Cathedral.
You shall then continue south of Dublin to the nearby Wicklow Mountains. Here you shall visit Glendalough – which means the valley of two lakes.
The scenery in the Wicklow Mountains has been made famous by movies such as Braveheart and P.S. I Love You.
At Glendalough you will be spellbound by the scenery of this enchanting place, and will also have the chance to visit the monastery, and marvel at its round tower and of course its famous cross founded by St Kevin.
This is truly one of the most historic sites in Ireland and the most popular place to see for people visiting Dublin.
ITINERARY:
TOUR BEGINS AT DUBLIN PORT CRUISE TERMINAL
We shall greet and meet and then inform you of the highlights of the day, the various options for lunch and some of the great shops where you can purchase Irish arts and crafts as you drive off on this trip that is sure to provide memories to last a lifetime.
GLENDALOUGH
Your tour begins by taking the lovely little drive through county Wicklow knows also as the garden of Ireland. With its rolling hills, babbling brooks and romantic glens one can easily understand how this landscape was a highlight and feature of both Hollywood blockbusters P.S. I love you and Braveheart. Then it’s onward to Glendalough known as the valley of two lakes, famed by St. Kevin’s monastery dating back to the 6th century. The monastic site has Ireland’s finest round tower and you can even try and touch your hands around St. Kevin’s cross, as legend has it you shall then be married within a year. A truly wonderful place to visit!
WICKLOW MOUNTAINS
As you return from Glendalough to the city you will pass by some of Wicklow’s finest mountains. With magnificent lakes and rolling turf hills, commonly used as a source of energy in historic Ireland. This area is every photographers dream and symbolizes the picture postcard images that make Ireland unique.
DUBLIN CITY SIGHTSEEING TOUR
After lunch, or a refreshment stop if your departure has been later, you will be inspired with the sites of Dublin’s fair City. Highlights shall include O’Connell Street, the Ha’Penny bridge, the Temple Bar, Molly Malone statue, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Christchurch Cathedral, Trinity College and of course time to enjoy some shopping on Grafton Street – home to all our finest traditional luxury stores.
RETURN TO CRUISE SHIP
Each tour is structured to make sure you are back on board in ample time for departure. The service ends back at the dockside after approximately 8 hours on tour. If the boat is leaving earlier the itinerary will be amended as necessary.
ADDITIONAL INFO:
**Important** If your ship is at anchor in Dun Laoghaire the tour will depart 30 mins after the first tender arrives dockside. As you will need to come into the port by tender, you will need to be on one of the first tenders to make the tour.
