Day 1: Friday 21st August 2020 - Welcome to Ireland

Cliffs of MoherArrive at Shannon Airport, meet with your driver and your English speaking guide. En-route enjoy the Cliffs of Moher Cruise Cruise beneath the world famous Cliffs of Moher.

Standing 230 metres above the ground at their highest point and 8km long. The cliffs reach their highest point just north of O' Brien's Tower built by Cornelius O’ Brien, a descendant of Brian Boru, to entertain his lady friends. On a clear day, the Aran Islands are visible in Galway Bay as well as the valleys and hills of Connemara.

Visit Doolin Music House

Christy Barry and his partner Sheila have entertained friends and musicians at their home for many years, sitting around the fire playing music and telling stories. Although the pub sessions are extremely popular they realised that many of their visitors preferred to listen to traditional music in the intimate environment of their home.

As a result, they open up their atmospheric home to visitors so they can experience local Irish music in the relaxed surroundings of their home. Christy talks and discusses the history of traditional Irish music and plays great tunes together with his friend James Devitt.

You will enjoy the experience of visiting a local home, enjoying local company and listening to a good traditional music session around the fire. Sheila is an artist and her works surround the rooms in the house creating a truly art home atmosphere. Light lunch can be served during your visit – smoked salmon and brown bread, Irish cheeses accompanied by a glass of wine or a soft drink.

Day 2: Saturday 22nd August 2020 - Clare to Kerry

Blasket IslandThis morning we will depart for Kerry. En-route visit Johns Castle - King John's Castle is situated on 'King's Island' in the heart of medieval Limerick city. The Castle overlooks the majestic river Shannon. It was built between 1200 and 1210 and was repaired and extended many times in the following centuries.

The interpretative centre at the Castle contains an imaginative historical exhibition which tells the story of the Castle. Archaeological excavations have revealed pre-Norman settlements and evidence from the traumatic siege of 1642. The courtyard and the Castle display some of the trades and traditions of the 16th Century.

The Castle offers panoramic views of Limerick City and the surrounding countryside. The sights, scenes and sounds of the Castle and its environs all combine to recreate the atmosphere of the era.

Continue to Foynes Flying Boat and Maritime Museum. From 1939 to 1945 Foynes was the centre of the aviation world for air traffic between the United States and Europe. Located 35 km west of Limerick city on the Shannon estuary, the Foynes Museum recalls this era with a comprehensive range of exhibits and graphic illustrations.

The museum features the original Terminal Building including the authentic 1940's cinema; the Radio and Weather Rooms, complete with transmitters, receivers and Morse code equipment. The exhibits feature an introduction to the first transatlantic passenger service from Foynes during the war years and the only full sized replica B314 flying boat. Irish Coffee was invented in Foynes.

Chef Joe Sheridan made the first in 1942 to warm up some damp and miserable passengers. Since then Irish Coffee has become one the most popular welcoming drinks in the world. The Brendan O'Regan Restaurant sells biscuits & snacks, coffee and tea and of course Irish Coffee!

Day 3: Sunday 23rd August 2020 – Gap of Dunloe

The Gap of DunloeThis morning after breakfast we will get ready to explore the Gap of Dunloe

Begin your tour at Kate Kearney’s Cottage, where we will be greeted with a horse and carriage, or formerly known in Ireland as jaunting cars, (4 persons per car). The carts will travel through the Black Valley and the famous Gap before stopping at Lord Brandon’s Cottage.

After a short rest stop we walk to the edge of Lake Killarney were we will catch an Irish long boat to Ross Castle. Enjoy the impressive scenery as you cruise through the three lakes. *Full day tour and enjoy a steak sandwich for lunch.

Return to your hotel and enjoy a free evening. Overnight, bed and breakfast at your hotel in Kerry or area.

Day 4: Monday 24th August 2020 - Kerry to Cork

This morning depart Kerry and journey to Cork. En-route, visit Garnish Island

Garnish is a unique island that plays host to a multitude of plant variations, and the blanket of summer colouring which covers the island creates a rainbow of colour. The island has a wonderful history and its unusual micro climate allows a range of exotic subtropical plant species to flourish.

There are a number of walks and interesting buildings on the island. On route to the island, visitors will enjoy the magnificent views of the bay and also pass Seal Island with its colony of harbour seals.

Castle WallContinue to Cork and visit Blarney Castle. Attracting visitors from all over the world, Blarney Castle is situated in Blarney village, 8 km from Cork city. An ancient stronghold of the McCarthy's, Lords of Muskerry, it is one of Ireland's oldest and most historic castles, and one of the strongest fortresses in Munster.

Built in 1446, Blarney Castle is famous for its Blarney stone, the Stone of Eloquence, which is traditionally believed to have the power to bestow the gift of eloquence on all those who kiss it. Many legends tell the story of the Stone, but why not kiss it and find out the truth behind the legend.

The Castle gardens covering 60 acres of land are under constant change and over the past few years, a water garden, fern garden and poison garden have been developed and are all open to visitors.

Day 5: Tuesday 25th August 2020 - Kinsale

Today explore Kinsale. Visit Charles Fort

Overlooking Kinsale harbour and located approximately 3 km from Kinsale town, Charles Fort is a classic example of a late 17th Century star-shaped fort. William Robinson, architect of the Royal Hospital in Kilmainham, Dublin is credited with designing the fort.

As one of the largest military installations in the country, Charles Fort has been associated with some of the most momentous events in Irish history. The most significant of these are the Williamite War 1689-91 and the Civil War 1922-23. Charles Fort was declared a National Monument in 1973. Across the estuary is James Fort designed by Paul Ive in 1602. The fort contains a small museum, and there is a small cafe on-site.

Later, enjoy a Food Walking Tour - Learn about the history of the Norman walled Town that thrived as a fishing port, once known as ‘Ceann tSáile’ which means ‘Head of the Sea’. The 2hr/2hr 30min walking tour is a gentle stroll that winds though the colorful seaside town. Enjoy samples of local food at each eatery and hear the stories of the culinary creations.

Day 6: Wednesday 26th August 2020 - Cork to Waterford

Jameson Distillery MidletonThis morning we will depart for Kilkenny. En-route, visit Jameson Distillery Midleton

Whiskey has been distilled in the town of Midleton, County Cork since the early 9th Century. The Jameson Distillery Midleton was founded by the Murphy brothers in 1825. The 45 minute guided tour of the distillery commences with a short audio-visual, after which visitors are taken on a tour of the old distillery by local guides.

Follow the old distillery trail through mills, maltings, stillhouse, warehouses and kilns and view the largest pot still in the world - some of these buildings date back to 1795. The tour ends in the Distillery pub, where all are invited to enjoy a glass of Irish Whiskey.

During the visit a number of volunteers are selected to take part in a tasting session to compare a Jameson whiskey with a Scottish Whisky and American bourbon. Participants will receive a diploma for their achievement!It is possible for the whole group to participate in the whiskey comparison tasting. The visitor attraction has a Malt House Restaurant and a shop where guests can buy a range of whiskeys and souvenirs.

Continue to the Harty Oysters. Located in Dungarvan Bay in Waterford, the Harty family have lied and worked in this area for over six generation. Taking pride in farming sustainably to produce the most pristine and healthy Gigas oysters. Gigas oyster don’t grow naturally in Irish seas however the Harty family import their oyster seeds from France. Learn about the nursey and oyster purification process before tasting a freshly opened oyster!

Day 7: Thursday 27th August 2020 - Waterford to Dublin

Waterford Crystal IrelandThis morning, visit Waterford Crystal - The Waterford Crystal visitor centre has moved in 2010 to a magnificent new home in the heart of Waterford City. A unique highlight of a visit is the factory tour which gives an up close insight into the centuries-old tradition of Waterford Crystal making.

Feel the heat of the furnace and marvel at the skills of the craftsmen. The factory tour includes the following traditional production areas; wooden mould making, crystal blowing and furnace, crystal cutting and quality inspection and finishing.

After the tour visitors can browse the world’s most famous crystal in a lavish retail store, which houses the largest collection of Waterford Crystal found anywhere in the world. The centre includes the retail store, exhibition and crystal installation areas, coffee shop and worldwide shipping facility.

Depart for Dublin and visit Avoca Handweavers

Established in 1723, Avoca Handweavers is a family owned craft design company which had its beginnings at the Old Mill at Avoca, County Wicklow where the weavers produced the beautifully woven fabrics which became Avoca's hallmark. Avoca Handweavers has a visitor centre which tells the story since 1723 and a mill tour where you meet the weavers at work.

Day 8: Friday 28th August 2020 - Dublin

Chester Beatty LibraryThis morning visit Chester Beatty Library - Manuscripts, miniature paintings, prints, drawings, rare books and decorative arts complete the library collection - all the result of the collecting activities of one man - Sir Alfred Chester Beatty (1875-1968).

Egyptian papyrus texts, beautifully illuminated copies of the Qur'an, the Bible, European medieval and renaissance manuscripts are among the highlights on display. In its diversity, the collection captures much of the richness of human creative expression from about 2700 BC to the present day. The Library is located in the grounds of Dublin Castle.

Later, enjoy Experience Gaelic Games

With Experience Gaelic Games, visitors take part in a unique and integral part of Irish culture and heritage, such as traditional Gaelic games and dances. The experience is brought alive by a team of passionate ambassadors/coaches.

Visitors can learn the games, and operators will coach and instruct them in the skills, then let them play mini-matches, take part in team building activities or sit back and watch. Spend the balance of the day at leisure. Overnight, bed and breakfast at your Dublin hotel or area.

Day 9: Saturday 29th August 2020 - The Game

The Notre Dame vs Navy American Football Game - Aviva Stadium,Dublin, Ireland.
